The Asian Youth Chess Championship saw a total domination by India to win 10 gold medals out of a possible 12! The other two gold medals were taken by Philippines and Iran in the Under 16 Open and Under 12 Open respectively.

India completely ruled the Girls section by winning Gold in all 6 girls age groups.
Besides the 10 gold medals, India also grabbed 4 Silver and 4 bronze medals.
Host country, Philippines, managed only 1 Gold, 2 Silver and 3 Bronze medals.
Iran was clear third in the medals race with 1 Gold, 2 SIlver and 1 Bronze with Shahin Lorpanizangeneh clinching Gold for the Under-12 title.
The tournament saw participation of 287 players from 20 countries.
